On Wednesday 3rd July at 8pm, Dr Monica Shaha, Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, will present a CPD webinar on ‘Self Harm in Children and Young People’.

Expected Learning Outcomes

1) To recognise key symptoms when assessing self harm in under 18s
2) To assess degree of risk and recognise red flag symptoms
3) To practice what to write when referring to CAMHS
4) How to support families whilst waiting for CAMHS

About the Speaker: Monica Shaha MB ChB MRCPsych

Dr Shaha has worked in Psychiatry in the NHS for the past 20 years; 11 years as a consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at SWYPFT NHS trust, Wakefield. She is passionate about working systemically with children and young people, involving parents, carers, extended family, schools and even friends, where appropriate, in treatment. She believes that the use of medication in young people has its place albeit judiciously. She enjoys working with children presenting with any mental health difficulties especially eating difficulties, anxiety, depression and ADHD.
